The SLO County Stumblers
36 Lime St, Newcastle, NE1 2PQ
Description
The SLO County Stumblers are an energetic American string band based in California’s Central Coast. The band features fiddler Casy Meikle, guitarist David Baine, banjo player Daniel Bohlman, and Jerry James on bass.
The band was formed in 2018 when bassist Jerry James pulled together an Old Time Music Gathering in Pozo, California at the historic Pozo Saloon. Jerry cobbled together a “front porch band” for the gathering consisting of a couple of his local musician/fishing buddies to play banjo (David Bohlman) and guitar (Stuart Mason) while a visiting SLO County native living in Nashville, Casy Meikle would hold it down on fiddle. Though the quartet had played a handful of times prior to the music gathering, what happened on the porch of that saloon was too good to be a one-off, the SLO County Stumblers were born. David Baine joined the band full time in 2023.
